Hi! My name’s Rachel. I’m a 20-something doing my best to navigate post-grad life while living and working in St. Louis. I have a pretty laid back personality and I strongly believe that no pants are the best pants. My hobbies include Netflix, cats, anything involving copious amounts of glitter, and pretending I’ve actually accomplished something when really all I’ve done is spend hours on Pinterest repinning recipes for food I’ll never make and exercises I’m too lazy to try.
In keeping with my latest habit of doing things that a) make no logical sense or b) are so far out of my comfort zone it’s like I’m on another planet, the idea for this blog popped into my head. And, as is typical for me, the idea just wouldn’t leave me alone. So, after thinking things over for a bit and being struck by inspiration for posts more than once, I took the plunge and decided to start Pretty in Pieces despite (and maybe a little because of) the fact that I have no idea what I’m doing.
The biggest life lesson I’ve learned so far is that things don’t have to be perfect in order to be wonderful. It’s the concept that imperfection is perfectly perfect that’s at the core of what Pretty in Pieces is all about. We all try so hard to convince everyone else and ourselves that we know what we’re doing that we forget one very important thing: nobody knows what they’re doing. And that’s totally ok. So if the concept of being a human with faults and flaws and hopes and dreams is something you can relate to, follow along with me as I share my travels, ambitions, hobbies, fears, and attempts at adulting- which are sometimes the same thing.
~xo~
