Travel Photo Diary: St Thomas

First stop on our 8 day cruise: St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands! Originally settled by the Dutch in the 1600s, St. Thomas was a picture-perfect slice of paradise. While here my family enjoyed a snorkeling expedition with Captain Nautica through Carnival.

We were fortunate enough to enjoy our time snorkeling in two areas (Turtle Cove and Shipwreck Cove, both aptly named) with a grand total of 8 passengers on board a vessel designed to hold 22. After snorkeling, we relaxed on board with soft drinks and a platter of shrimp. We made a quick stop back on the ship for lunch and to change into dry clothes before making the 15-20 minute walk into downtown to explore on our own for a bit.
